Terry Savarise serves as CEO for the United Center, home of the six-time World Champion Chicago Bulls and the six-time Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. In a typical year, the arena hosts more than 200 major events, making it one of the busiest venues in the United States. Savarise was responsible for all design and construction of the 960,000-square foot multi-purpose arena and its surrounding campus, including the Chicago Bulls Advocate Center, Fifth Third Community Ice Arena and expansion as well as the United Center Atrium and Office Building.
In addition to his role at the United Center, Savarise serves as CEO for 1901 Development – a development group dedicated to managing and realizing the visionary plans of The 1901 Project, a transformative $7 billion neighborhood investment on Chicago’s West Side.
Savarise also oversees facility operations and event management at Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox. He serves on the board for the Chicago White Sox Charities- the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to making Chicago a better place to live, work and play beyond the diamond.
In his dual roles, Savarise has overseen marquee events, such as the NBA Finals (1991-93, 1996-98) and All-Star Game (2020), the Stanley Cup Finals (2010, 2013, 2015), the World Series (2005) and MLB All-Star Game (2003) as well as concerts ranging from the Rolling Stones to U2, Beyonce and Elton John, the 1996 Democratic National Convention and the upcoming 2024 Democratic National Convention. Combining attendance at sporting events and concerts for the two venues, more than five million fans typically visit facilities directed by Savarise each year.
