The Business Development Director – Downstate (located in and covering regions south of Interstate 80) will be responsible for communication with regional economic development organizations and local communities in Downstate Illinois, with a focus on the central and southern regions of the state. This director will assist in the coordinating of site visits, familiarization (“fam”) tours, and other business development activities in the area. The Business Development Director – Downstate will lead these efforts with the support of Intersect Illinois’ business development, research, and marketing teams.
The manager reports to the Vice President of Business Development and works closely with the Business Development Associate and Site Selection Managers.
The Business Development Associate is primarily responsible for assisting the business development team on a wide range of activities in support of efforts to recruit employers and assist communities in Illinois. This entry level position is focused primarily on gathering information for projects and leads. The BD Associate reports to the Site Selection Manager and Business Development Vice President and works closely with the entire business development team, as well as with the research and marketing teams.
The Site Selection Manager manages several business development projects to completion, including leading project calls, communicating with local and state government stakeholders, organizing site visits, following up with consultants and clients and reporting outcomes through an internal CRM system. The manager reports to the Vice President of Business Development and supervises/works closely with the Business Development Associate to make sure projects are managed with the highest quality and efficiency.
The Marketing Coordinator develops communication to ensure that Illinois is top of mind for companies making location decisions, and that Intersect Illinois is known as a key partner and resource for doing business throughout the state. The Coordinator reports to the Marketing Director and is responsible for brand material development; social media planning, management and tracking; website and presentation content development and other communications initiatives.
