Rauner goes around lawmakers to form private development group

Gov. Bruce Rauner is moving to partially privatize the state's job creation agency, trying to accomplish via executive order something he couldn't get through lawmakers. But the move still could catch flak from the Democrat-dominated General Assembly.

As part of his State of the State speech yesterday, Rauner announced that he has formed a nonprofit group known as the Illinois Business and Economic Development Corp. that will promote Illinois as a good place to do business.
