Andria Winters is co-founder of Intersect Illinois, and serves as President. Governor Bruce Rauner appointed Andria Winters as Assistant Director of the Illinois Department of Commerce in February 2015. As Assistant Director, Andria was responsible for all operations and strategy for the agency and the State Offices of Business Development; Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology; Film; Regional Economic Development; Tourism; and Trade & Investment.
In her role at the Department, Andria was also responsible for transforming and streamlining the agency while creating a new culture that prioritizes accountability, efficiency, and customer service.
Prior to joining the Department of Commerce, Andria worked as Policy Director for Motorola Mobility, where she developed and executed pro-innovation and pro-economic-growth public policies that covered all 50 states. She also served as Director of Strategic Initiatives for Motorola Mobility Foundation, where she built partnerships to improve communities through technology solutions.
As former Deputy Legislative Director for U.S. Senator Mark Kirk, Andria served as chief policy advisor for technology, commerce, science, tourism, women’s health, and other issues. In her role, she worked across the aisle on a variety of legislative initiatives.
Andria currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence and on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Economic Development Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan and resides in Chicago, Illinois.
